Quinn IP Law is proud to announce that four attorneys, Matthew R. Mowers, Lisa M. Muhleck, Ellen M. Schwab and Alexander Zelikov, have been named shareholders.

Matt, Lisa, Ellen and Alex’s collective practices cover all areas of intellectual property, including patent, trademark and copyright procurement and prosecution, licensing and acquisitions, portfolio management, anti-counterfeiting, enforcement, and client counseling for our client’s intellectual property needs on a worldwide basis.

Further, they each practice in diverse technical areas and industries, including automotive, aerospace, and transportation technology, building materials, chemical and chemistry sciences, consumer products, sporting equipment, green technologies, artificial intelligence, software and information technology, electronics and computer technology, and medical devices.

New Shareholders

Matthew R. Mowers is the lead attorney of Quinn IP Law’s international trademark and copyright practice groups.  Matt provides comprehensive counseling in international patent and trademark law matters to companies ranging from startup ventures to Fortune 100 clients. Matt works with legal, branding and business teams to procure rights, maximize the value of global intellectual property portfolios and enforce client rights in trademark, unfair competition and Internet-related disputes. He also specializes in complex technology transactions and negotiating joint development, license, and technology arrangements.  A registered patent attorney, Matt has more than two decades of private practice and in-house counsel experience, focusing on utility and design patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical and electromechanical arts, patent validity and opinion analysis, and intellectual property portfolio management. Matt earned a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from GMI Engineering & Management University (now Kettering University) and a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Lisa M. Muhleck is the lead attorney of Quinn IP Law’s design rights practice group.  As a registered patent attorney, Lisa’s practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of utility and design patents in the U.S. and internationally, providing strategic patent and trademark counseling, and intellectual property portfolio development and management.  She offers clients substantial knowledge and skills in automotive, mechanical, aerospace, and electromechanical engineering, as well as in manufacturing, medical devices, and industrial design.  Lisa provides versatile legal and technical advice to clients, whether they are seeking patent protection or design-around product development services.  She also specializes in developing infringement and validity opinions, licensing, supporting IP transactions, and helping clients maximize the value of their intellectual property through strategic and creative portfolio management.  Lisa earned a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

Ellen M. Schwab is the lead attorney of Quinn IP Law’s chemical and chemistry practice group. Ellen specializes in researching, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications, and has obtained patents for diverse chemical and mechanical technologies such as lithium ion batteries, shape memory alloys, automotive and industrial coatings, polyurethane foams and components, polymers, friction materials, electric motors, automotive components, sporting equipment, and food products.  She also provides a full range of intellectual property law services including consultation regarding infringement, validity, and design-around alternatives.  Ellen earned a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, where she was named a David Adamany Constitutional Law Scholar.

Alexander Zelikov specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, counseling clients in foreign patent strategy, and developing holistic patent strategies for protecting emerging technologies.  Alex also provides opinions and analyses on patentability, infringement, and validity.  He provides expert guidance on multiple vehicle-related technologies, including powertrain, driveline, suspension, aerodynamics, and vehicle system control methods.  Alex also counsels on diverse technologies such as artificial intelligence, manufacturing processes, and medical devices, and guides the patenting process for ornamental designs of articles of manufacture.  He has over 18 years of actual engineering experience and holds a number of patents.  Alex earned a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
