Quinn IP Law Appoints New Chief Diversity Officer

Quinn IP Law announces the appointment of Shareholder and Patent Attorney Jean McCarthy as Chief Diversity Officer. In addition to her IP practice, McCarthy will provide strategic leadership to the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives including leading its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DE&I Committee). She, with the support of the DE&I Committee, will work with attorneys, staff, and administration to advance recruitment efforts, provide professional development, and implement DE&I programs and initiatives throughout the firm.

McCarthy joined Quinn IP Law in 2002 and combines her technical expertise as a mechanical engineer with her legal knowledge as a patent attorney. Her clients range from Fortune 500 companies to independent inventors. She takes very seriously the responsibility of protecting each client’s innovation and is singularly focused on their success.

In addition to supporting her clients and colleagues, McCarthy supports young women in their educational endeavors through a local charity. McCarthy’s charitable activities include sponsoring children through an international nonprofit whose mission is to provide personal attention and direct benefits to children, youth, and their families so they may live with dignity, achieve their desired potential, and participate fully in society.

“Since Jean joined Quinn IP Law, she has demonstrated her leadership daily through integrity, honesty and professionalism,” said Chris Quinn, Managing Shareholder of Quinn IP Law. “She was the perfect choice to lead our DE&I initiative because she will embrace it with authenticity and commitment.”
