Quinn IP Law is proud to join forces with Patent PathwaysTM, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to increasing the number of minority patent practitioners. A current focus of Patent PathwaysTM is an underrepresented group in patent law: Black women. According to the Patent Pathway’sTM website there are 49,312 registered patent practitioners and only 1,085 racially diverse women registered as patent practitioners. The program strives to facilitate the registration of 50 Black women with the patent bar annually. The program is open to engineering or science graduates, law school students with engineering or science degrees, or practicing engineers or scientists considering a career change.
Patent PathwaysTM is aimed at fostering greater inclusivity in the patent law sector, striving to reflect the diverse fabric of our society. The program’s objective is to provide each participant with the tools to take and pass the patent bar and begin their pathway into a career in the patent field. The program includes patent skills training, patent bar preparation, career mentoring, job matching, professional networking, and more. Patent Pathways is currently looking for participants and volunteers for the 2023-2024 rotations, and Quinn IP Law hopes to spread the message and encourage participation.
