His work goes far beyond patent prosecution or trademark enforcement. For one client, Matt helped identify which patents could be taken to market while safeguarding relationships with existing customers. Matt leads the firm’s international trademark practice and provides comprehensive patent and trademark counseling to startups, universities, and Fortune 100 companies. He has deep experience in automotive and electromechanical technologies, as well as consumer products, clean tech, and medical devices. A registered patent attorney, his practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, licensing, asset valuation, and complex technology transactions.
Matt previously served as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Jaguar Land Rover and IP Counsel for Lear Corporation, where he advised leadership teams and aligned global IP strategy with corporate business goals. He has also been a shareholder at Brooks Kushman and a partner at Warner Norcross & Judd.
